Jerry Fox

Art Editor, Professor Emeritus University of Nebraska-Kearney, Modern Languages, World Traveller.

While traveling the globe, Jerry was seeing and absorbing cultures and arts from every place visited. A special love of his was the American Southwest. And now retired he enjoys his freedom to travel with family and taste-test wines from around the world.

I’ve spent my life being curious about all cultures around the world. I taught German, French and Applied Linguistics in University of Nebraska-Kearney’s Modern Language department. Also I developed the Office of International Education at UNK and was its former Director.

I served on the Board of Directors of the Museum of Nebraska Art for 10 years, and with my wife Janet, edit MONA’s Bison Society’s newsletter. I like involving myself in Kearney’s culture from MONA to the YMCA to Kearney’s Sister City Opava, Chechia, because it opens the doors to new cultural perspectives for Kearney.

A big part of my life has been traveling, international cooking, construction, collecting American art and pickle ball.  For 20 years I was a vigneron and am still an avid gardener.
